The Do’s and Don’ts for Bikini Waxing

With summer fast approaching, bikini waxing for Perth women is a must!

There are some simple things to consider before you embark on a bikini wax, so have a look at these simple Do’s and Don’ts and you’ll be looking sleek in that bikini in no time!

The Do’s of Bikini Waxing

  • Hygiene is a major priority. Clean the area thoroughly before your waxing appointment.
  • Make sure your hair is at least 6mm or a quarter of an inch long before you go for a wax.
  • If you find the area a bit uncomfortable after a wax, apply a cold compress to help soothe the area.
  • Use a mild soap to cleanse the area twice a day after the waxing session to prevent redness.
  • Prevent ingrown hairs by using a mild exfoliant following your wax.

The Don’ts of Bikini Waxing

  • Try not to have a bikini waxing during or a week before your periods as this often makes the area more sensitive.
  • Don’t apply any creams or moisturisers before waxing.
  • Wear loose-fitting clothes or underwear on the day of your waxing appointment. This will minimise irritation.
  • Try not to have a too-hot shower and avoid sunbathing for the first 48 hours.
  • It may seem unusual, but don’t apply any moisturisers for the first few of days after waxing. It can irritate the skin and cause possible inflammation.

Whether you choose a regular or a Brazilian wax, follow the tips above and you’ll get the most benefit out of your bikini wax. If you live in Perth, give Le Beau Day Spa Perth a call on 08 9331 1122 with any questions about your next bikini wax or to book an appointment!
